In an increasingly demanding industrial world, hydraulic fluids are key for ensuring the efficiency and optimal performance of various assets, as they play a crucial role in power transmission in industrial machinery. But how do hydraulic systems work? 

The hydraulic fluid reaches high pressures thanks to the use of pumps and, according to Pascal's law, drives specific machinery or moves mechanical components uniformly in all directions. 

In today's market, there are multiple types of hydraulic systems that adapt to different industrial applications. The chemical composition of hydraulic fluids must be adjusted to the specific needs of the environment they're used in.

From applications that require stability at high pressures and temperatures, to those that need to maintain their performance at low temperatures, Repsol Lubricants offers the Maker range, a wide and varied catalog of hydraulic oils designed for each type of operating conditions. 

Hydraulic oils for high temperatures

For those industries where operating temperatures extremely high, Repsol offers the following hydraulic oils: 

  • Maker Telex E. These are monograde oils designed to operate at high pressures and temperatures, meeting the quality requirements of the DENISON H-0 norm. 
  • Maker Libra Hydraulic HLP. Their technical characteristics are similar to Maker Telex E, with the difference being that they're formulated with regenerated bases, helping to reduce the product's carbon footprint.

For industries that require extremely high temperatures in manufacturing, such as hydraulic tile firing kilns, it's crucial to use fire-resistant oils. 

These are characterized by not operating directly on the flame, but in systems close to the heat source, such as the hydraulic arms of the doors of industrial furnaces. In the Repsol catalogue, there are two types of fire-resistant oils:

  • Maker HFC 46. HFC quality oil, capable of self-extinguishing in the event of fire.
  • Maker Telex Vulcano. HFDU oil, designed to work at high pressures and temperatures in close proximity to heat sources.

Hydraulic oils for cooling systems

In the meatpacking or canning sector, hydraulic oils must maintain good rheological behavior against changes in temperature, due to the increase in viscosity when it approaches 0ºC. 

For these applications, Repsol offers the Maker Telex HVLP range, composed of multigrade hydraulic oils that dampen viscosity changes and ensure optimal performance in cooling systems.

Ash-less technology for critical systems

Servo valve systems controlling critical assets, such as ethylene hypercompressors, require ash-less technology to prevent ash deposits. Repsol offers two lines of oils for these circumstances: the single-grade Maker Hydraulic SC range and the multigrade Maker Hidroleo range.
