New Astra Maker with grade 46: low viscosity for smooth performance in pneumatic tools
Repsol Lubricants has added a new low viscosity grade (46) to the Maker Astra range, thus completing our portfolio for pneumatic tools. Using this oil with ISO viscosity grade 46 provides fluidity at low temperatures and more effective lubrication of high-speed components, helping equipment run as smoothly as possible from the very first start.
In cold conditions or applications with fast cycles, thinner oils circulate earlier and reach critical points more easily, thus generating an early and stable flow rate that translates into smoother and more precise operations. This makes Maker Astra 46 ideal for drills, hammers, and pneumatic equipment working in demanding environments, such as workshops, public construction, or industries with frequent exposure to low temperatures or frequent start-ups, such as mining and cementing.
The formulation of the Maker Astra range combines hydrotreated, dewaxed, and dearomatised paraffinic mineral bases with a package of extreme pressure additives. This chemistry is designed to withstand large loads, impacts, and vibrations to reduce wear of moving parts and control the formation of deposits and contaminants.
Maker Astra stands out for its superb adhesiveness, which helps maintain the lubricating film, and its ability to form stable emulsions with water, capturing microdroplets and preventing their direct contact with metal surfaces, a crucial aspect in compressed air lines exposed to moisture. It also offers anti-corrosion and rust protection in all types of temperatures.
In addition, Maker Astra meets ISO 6743/11 - PAC/PBC quality levels and is recommended for use in tools and equipment from manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Gardner Denver, and Ingersol Rand.
With this new addition, the Maker Astra range is available in ISO 46, 100, 150, and 320, so you can select the most appropriate viscosity based on working conditions, ambient temperature, and the specifications of the equipment manufacturer.
If you'd like to see its specifications in greater detail or want help choosing the ideal viscosity, consult the manufacturer's manual or use this form to send a message to our technical team. We'd be delighted to help you find the solution that best suits your needs.
