Repsol Lubricants at PERUMIN 2025: innovation with purpose and technology for more efficient mining
Arequipa (Peru) once again became the mining capital of Latin America with the 37th edition of PERUMIN, held from September 22 to 26 with an attendance of more than 65,000 visitors. Repsol Lubricants was present with a stand in hall 1 and with different presentations that connected territorial sustainability with technical innovation applied to mining operations.
Thus, one of the axes of participation was the presentation "Innovation with purpose. The Impulsared model as a benchmark for territorial corporate social responsibility", carried out by Tine van den Wall Baker, Senior Manager of Sustainability and Social Management at Repsol Peru, and Adriana Ciriza, executive director of Akuaipa Transformation and expert in sustainability and international cooperation projects. Both shared concrete learnings from Impulsared, Repsol's program that facilitates collective ventures and reinforces local capacities.
The other axis was technology applied to the operational demands of large-scale mining. Ibán Bascones Oset, Product Manager of Industrial and Marine Lubricants, was in charge of the presentation "Development and evaluation of a synthetic lubricating oil for mining traction engines", where the process of formulation and validation of a state-of-the-art synthetic lubricant for traction engines in mining trucks was detailed.
During the trade fair, the Repsol team at stand 51 attended technical consultations on viscosity selection, predictive maintenance programs, and optimization of life cycle costs, in addition to presenting its portfolio of mining oils. In this way, Repsol Lubricants' role in integrating social innovation and technological development is reinforced, accompanying mining in its present and future challenges.
