Repsol's Route through Galicia: the Camino de Santiago by motorcycle
From September 12th to 16th, Galicia was the backdrop to an experience that brought Repsol Lubricants distributors and collaborators together around the same passion: traveling by motorcycle. Repsol's Route through Galicia, organized alongside Xtreme Challenge, turned the Camino de Santiago into a different type of route, designed to discover the region through its roads, culture, and cuisine.
The journey began in A Coruña, where participants were welcomed by the Xtreme Challenge team, led by Andrés Muñoz and Roberto Varcarcel, and inspired by a talk by former rider Álex Barros, who was also part of the route. The bikes, cutting-edge BMW models such as the R1300GS, the R1300GS Adventure, the RT 1300 or the S1000XR, were ready to travel more than a thousand kilometers in five intense days.
The route was a display of landscapes and sensations. From the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic in Estaca de Bares to the mythical Finisterre, passing through the Illa da Toxa, the lighthouse of Cabo Ortegal or the curves that wind through the Cañón del Sil, each section a new postcard moment. There were moments riding by the sea, entering lush forests, and stopping at viewpoints that beg you to stay a while longer.
Galician cuisine became an inseparable companion of the route. In Viveiro, O Grove, and Ribadavia, participants were able to taste the most characteristic flavors of the region, where each meal was also a moment to share anecdotes, talk about the day, and bond with fellow travelers. They rested in accommodation that enriched the experience: the modern Hotel Plaza (A Coruña) and the historic Convento dos Capuchos (Monção, Portugal).
Beyond the kilometers, Repsol's Route through Galicia was a journey of connection: with the road, with the essence of Galicia, and with a community that shares the same passion for motorcycles. A route that reaffirmed that, when it comes to traveling on two wheels, the destination is important but the road is everything.
