Do you know what the ISO 9001 Quality standard is?

New Repsol drums

As we explained in our new article about our solid Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management System, it is based on the excellent management of these principles, which are highly important for Repsol. Proof of this has been obtaining and maintaining of all associated ISO certifications, for three decades.

On this occasion, we are going to talk about the importance of applying the ISO 9001 standard, the most recognized quality management standard in the world. By implementing this standard we guarantee the supervision, management, and continuous improvement of quality, throughout all our operations.  Maintaining it over time demonstrates our organization's ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer expectations with the applicable regulatory requirements.

Its main contribution consists of three points:

  • Our customers’ trust and its branding,
  • Increased stability in development
  • Increased operational efficiency and a culture of continuous improvement

In addition to being an ideal platform to move towards other certifications for environmental management systems, occupational health, and safety or social responsibility, ISO 9001 allows us as a company to compete on an equal footing in today's complex market.

Among other advantages, it brings us closer our customers’ requirements who are more than ever, looking for certified suppliers, which increases the possibilities of increasing EU sales. This improves their own quality systems, as well as necessary documentation and suppliers in terms of performance which, ultimately, builds confidence.

At Repsol, we apply the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) continuous improvement cycle in all our processes, reducing costs and optimizing our productivity, with benefits that have a direct impact on our business relationships.
