The 2026 season is marking a new era in the relationship between Repsol Lubricants and MSi Racing. What began last year with the sponsorship of Alejandro Cachón, one of the best-known names in Spanish rallying, has now evolved into a technical partnership within the World Rally Championship.

Cachón, together with Borja Rozada, competes this season in WRC2 with a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 within a structure where Repsol, Toyota, and MSi Racing converge. In this context, Repsol Lubricants has taken a step beyond brand visibility to become an integrated part of the project's performance, with two specific oils developed by Repsol TechLab to meet the demands of the competition.

For a little over a month, the team has been using these lubricants in the race. On the one hand, we have the Toyota MSI 0W-30 engine oil, designed for high-performance engines and with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing oil consumption, and strengthening protection against wear and high temperatures. On the other hand, there is Toyota MSI 75W-140 LSD transmission oil, formulated for self-locking differentials and designed to ensure correct power transmission, as well as offering wear resistance and reliability in extreme conditions.

A promising start to the season in Croatia and the Canary Islands

The first results of this new era are already becoming visible in the sections. In the two tests held since the incorporation of these oils, both Cachón and Rozada have shown clear progress. First, with a fourth place in the Croatian Rally and later with second place on the podium in the WRC2 in the Canary Islands Rally.

This evolution of the project also reflects Cachón's growing maturity, as he continues ti stand out as one of the most promising Spanish drivers on the international scene. His podium in the Canary Islands, the third of his World Championship career, speaks to that progress within an especially competitive category.

Competition as a testing ground

Beyond sports, this collaboration highlights one of the great values of Repsol Lubricants: competition as a real-life test bench. In championship competition as demanding as WRC2, each stage subjects the vehicle and its components to extreme conditions of temperature, load, and wear. This context makes it possible to validate technical solutions and extract lessons that can then be transferred to the development of commercial products.

With Portugal and Japan as the next events, the season progresses for a team that continues to build on perseverance, technical work, and race experience. From the laboratory to the section, and from the section to product improvement, Repsol Lubricants finds in this partnership with MSi Racing a new way to continue testing its technology where it is most required.
